Vermont- Plan Would Allow Employers to Shop Outside Exchanges

Speaking Monday in Montpelier, Shumlin and leaders from the House and Senate said expanding the proposal to allow the use of bronze plans and letting employees[sic] with more than 50 employees shop outside the proposed health care exchanges would further Vermont's goal of creating a single-payer health care system.

Last year Vermont passed legislation to create the health care exchange called for under the federal health reform and then by 2017 to a single-payer, government-backed plan.
